During my recent romantic escape to Matoppo Inn, I was thrilled by its charming blend of history and comfort - it truly felt like stepping back into a beautifully restored drostdy building from the 17th century. Our spacious, individually decorated room was a delightful sanctuary, complete with air conditioning and a cozy patio where we'd sip our morning coffee while soaking in the serene garden views. The lush gardens surrounding the Inn provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful retreat, making our time by the outdoor pool simply heavenly. The staff went above and beyond, welcoming us with refreshing drinks and offering helpful tips for exploring Beaufort West's hidden gems. I cannot recommend Matoppo Inn enough for travelers seeking a slice of tranquility combined with rich South African history.
